Day 17

Sign is getting more accepting of us approaching her and handling her. She is getting much more confident with each day. On Day 17 I ponied her from my tall (non-handy) gelding. She was awesome with us on her left and need more repetition with us on her right. I am also continuing work on steering and remaining soft.

Rebecca is one of 60 trainers selected to compete in the Midwest Mustang Challenge at the Midwest Horse Fair in Madison, WI, April 18-20, 2008.

The Midwest Mustang Challenge, sponsored by the Mustang Heritage Foundation in cooperation with the Bureau of Land Management, was created to highlight the recognized value of mustangs through a national training competition. The public has the unique opportunity of seeing the results of wild horses becoming trained mounts during the competition. After the competition, the public is invited to participate in a competitive bidding process to adopt one of these treasured animals.

What do you need to do to bring Sign home after the Competition?

Sign will be sold to the higgest bidder at the BLM auction on Sunday along with the other mustangs in this challenges.

Sign is a fantastic horse. She has a willing work ethic. She does eveything she is asked without any hesitation. She has no vices, does not show heat cycles, goes out with groups with no issues, trail rides alone or in company. She has a natural talent to be a performance horse. She will make a great barrel/gaming horse, reining horse or trail horse.
